La Crosse, WI - November 28, 2006 — We Energies has upgraded their mobile mapping software application to NMT Corporation’s FAAR 3 as part of an ongoing effort to increase productivity, safety and customer service.

“NMT continues to improve and expand digital map usability for field and office personnel. This is particularly true of the Dynamic Class function,” said Dana Kahle, GIS Supervisor of Electric Operations. “Dynamic Classes makes it easy to deploy data that changes regularly and is external to our GIS. Our reliability program personnel use Dynamic Classes to display data from outage management in FAAR’s graphical map interface allowing them to communicate the location and cause of outages to our employees, who then make contact with our customers. This represents a great customer service and planning tool for us.”

“We use Dynamic Classes to identify small outage pockets,” reports Gary Lindholm, Senior Engineer. “The ability to graphically map our outage data allows us to identify groups of customers who have experienced multiple outages over a relatively short period of time. Outage remediation efforts can be focused on these areas to improve the level of customer service and prevent future complaints.”

FAAR 3 allows us to create default map views that best address the task specific needs of the various user groups that we support,“ added Kahle. “The latest version also provides users the ability to create their own ‘personal’ profiles based on the way they look at the world, enhancing map readability and job efficiency.”

We Energies uses FAAR 3 to distribute map-based information for their gas, electric and water facility data to over 3,500 mobile and office-based employees and authorized third-party contractors.
